Most of the time what you really need to do is neither what you want to do nor what other people what you want to do. It is not what you want to do because you are influenced by other people and what you want to do is influenced by what other people expect you to do or you will tend to do what seems appropriate. And it is not what they want you to do because they have no idea who you are and what your real strengths and natural abilities are. Therefore what you have to do is, search within yourself, you have to get to know yourself, and you cannot get to know yourself if you do not spend a significant amount of time with yourself, by yourself. It is fine to talk to people and ask for their advice and share your experience. But the problem is that people want other people to answer the most important and most personal question. This happens because most people are not brave enough to make big changes and make decisions which have significant results and take them out of the environment they know. They are afraid that they will lose something. The problem is that most people think that what they have know is what they need and their world or the world in general could not function in any other way. This of course is wrong because all of us exist in our own realities. They all differ greatly.
Most people should not be negotiating their state of being. They would be happier if they did not have to explain their state of being to other people. People would be happier if rather than negotiating their state of being they were to focus on doing what makes them happy.
This has become a big issue in the film and television industry. This because most producers and financiers do not want to support a unique project. It happens in other creative areas too. If it is unique it means it differs from all the other stories or films or pieces of art therefore people might not like it or understand it, therefore they might not be ready to buy it. This thinking is destroying our creativity. Most importantly it prevents arts from exploring life, universe, ourselves, each other.
The universe can be anything. It is unknown to us. I think that if we are to survive we have to be able to imagine it in various states. We have to be able to imagine its many different elements. We have to explore our perceptions of time and place and sound and vision. However many producers, financiers, arts authorities, scientists and governments do not want to instigate change, they do not want to explore new levels, new ways of communicating. New types of stories. This happens because their only concern is if they will be able to make a significant profit.
We have to be able to imagine anything and we should be able to create it and communicate it and show people how to think in new ways. This would help us view our place in the universe and therefore in each others’ lives in new ways.
Instead we are encouraged to deliver the same old content, in the same old predictable ways.
