Truth is always perceived as an extreme clause because we have been conditioned to think that we are not intelligent enough to try to examine the world that surrounds us and determine its operating principles. Therefore, when its truths strike us and move us we are convinced we should ignore them, hence we reduce our sense of empathy, because they seem so extreme because they go against our unexamined assumptions, which have been spoon fed to us by the entities who define themselves as authorities.
